Books
For this week we were given the option to write about books we would use during out unit or books for children about things that are happening in the world right now. I am choosing to do a mix of both.
BUTTERFLY UNIT BOOKS
This book is about a caterpillar who really wants to know what happens next. It takes kids on a journey of patience and how that can pay off in the end.
This is a bilingual book about the Monarch butterfly migration.
This book is a great example of the butterfly life cycle.
This book shows the butterfly life cycle and has flaps which I've found students really like.
I love National Geographic and this book is full of great real life butterfly pictures. It has many facts and easy to read words.
BOOKS FOR THE WORLD NOW
This book is told through the eyes of a little boy named Daniel. It is about the LA riots in the 90's, but could still pertain to what is happening now.
I love Peter H. Reynolds books. This book is about how your words matter and what you do with them is important.
Another book by Peter H Reynolds. I like this book because its about finding your voice and using it to make a difference!
This book is about believing you are enough. Loving who you are. And being kind.
By: LaTashia M. Perry This book celebrates diversity in a fun way that young students can relate to.
Last book is,
This is a sweet book about teaching children to learn about how they fit into God's plan and what they bring into the world that is important.

BOOKS FOR THE WORLD NOW

Last book is,

What a great list of books! I love this especially since we doing the same topic! It is interesting to see the variation in books that we chose to include in our list! I will be taking note of the ones you had for your list that I didn't to use in the future as I know this is a topic that is done in several grades in elementary. Great list!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great lost of books! I'm glad that you choose to mix of both topics because I was unsure about the types of books that can teach what is going on now in the word.. I'm going to write down the list of books for my future classroom.
