Reflection

Wow, in the midst of all the things happening in the world these past seven weeks have flown by. I really enjoyed watching the unit presentations tonight. I enjoyed seeing the ideas that Miranda had for Butterflies because we are both doing that with our units. I also enjoyed listening to the other presenters. I always get great ideas from everyone else. I think the game Kayla is going to play will be fun and I liked how Laura is getting the students up and moving. I liked all of Linsey's ideas because if I don't end up teaching Early Childhood SPED then I want to teach 1st or 2nd grade.

I think we had some fun discussions tonight as well. The booklist sharing was fun because I was having trouble thinking of fantasy fiction and like those picture books that were presented.

Lastly, the idea of concept maps are so cool! I haven't really been in an elementary classroom in the past 10+ years (my early observations were done in my school which is Title 1 Pre-K and ECSE so 3-5 year olds). I think I could definitely use those for so many different subject areas and topics! Here are some fun ones I found online

50+ Creative Uses for the Map-a-Map Tool | BrainPOP EducatorsCommunity Workers Circle map; great for launching the unit ...

I even think I will use this when I am writing and 'brain dumping'.

  2. These are some great ideas!! I love that both of us are in a SPED pre-k classroom and both chose butterfly life cycle. It is so neat see your ideas for lessons and on blog post. I look forward to seeing your presentation!! I love that both of us have such wonderful experiences in a SPED pre-k classroom. I am going to take the early childhood and early sped childhood content test so that I will be certified for those as well as 1-6, as I too would love to be in early sped childhood!!
